Will you help #BreakTheBias?
This month Epic Floral Design is eager to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th. This is a wonderful time to honor the women in your life who exhibit strong leadership skills and balance for better in their daily lives.
Each year has an official theme, but unofficially, many people use it as a day to remember all the women that have made an impact in their lives through sharing International Women's Day quotes, thoughtful messages, and more. The official IWD website has announced that this year's theme is #BreakTheBias which requires the value of #diversity - and diversity requires understanding, acceptance, #inclusion & celebration.
Who do you know that works hard for gender equality? Teachers, mentors, leaders and supporters are excellent examples of strong female contributions to the International Women’s Day movement. From around the globe people of all different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds come together to celebrate the strength of the amazing women in their lives. This global movement is in the business of making strides toward gender equality, not only in the workplace, but in all aspects of life.
Over time, the men and women in different countries have celebrated Women’s Day differently, so that the typical flowers for Women’s Day may vary depending where you are in the world. In 1946, Italy chose the yellow mimosa as a symbol of strength, sensibility and sensitivity for Women’s Day. In Russia, they often feature red roses to which they sell upwards of 150,000 stems on March 8th alone. Though there are really so many different beautiful flowers for Women’s Day that you can easily choose a gorgeous bouquet of lilies, orchids, tulips or daisies, and more! Any thoughtful flower arrangement or gift is sure to show your support and celebrate her achievements on International Women’s Day.
Support the women in your life who exhibit positive change and balance for a better world. The Epic Floral Design Team is proud to show our support and enthusiasm for International Women’s Day this year on March 8th.
